About Tree Totem
Tree Totem is an independent buying-guide site about home saunas. That includes indoor cabins, backyard kits, heaters, stones and sauna blankets.
We write for people who want a sauna at home but aren't sure where to start. Our aim is to help you pick one that fits your space, your power supply and your budget.
What we cover
Our guides cover infrared and traditional cabins, outdoor barrel and cube saunas, and the heaters and stones that go inside them. We also cover sauna blankets for homes with little spare room.
We explain the parts that trip up most buyers. That means room size, heater output, 120V versus 240V power, heat-up time and wood care.
How we work
We read the specs, the setup and power details and the maker's own information for every product we cover. We also look at what owners often report after living with one.
Then we turn it into plain guides, side-by-side comparisons and clear picks. Our How we research page explains the steps.
What we are not
We don't make or sell saunas, and no brand pays us to rank its products. Tree Totem isn't affiliated with Harvia, HUUM, Dynamic Saunas or any other maker.
We don't claim to have tested every sauna we write about. When we pick something, we say why, based on its specs, its features and owner feedback.
We don't give medical advice or wiring steps. If you have a health condition, ask your doctor before using a sauna, and have a licensed electrician handle any new circuit.
How the site is paid for
Some links here go to stores like Amazon. If you buy through one, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
That never decides which products we pick. Our affiliate disclosure has the details.
